Dr. Lanman has a heart of gold! Her clinic is THE most affordable in town!!!
Reviewer: Sonia
Your review...I almost fell out of my chair when I read some of these negative reviews. I found it very hard to believe at first. Dr. Lanman is phenomenal and I've trusted her with the lives of all my animals and have referred anyone and everyone to her. While other vet clinics have slapped me with outrageous estimates and attitudes of pay up or shut up, Dr. Lanman remains the Mother Theresa of veterinarians. I dare anyone to find a clinic that will work on your animal for anything less than 50% of what's usually a colossal overestimate. Dr. Lanman's prices have proven to be the most reasonable around town. TRUST ME...I've checked. While one vet at another clinic told me that my young 2 year old cat just HAD to have her teeth pulled and gave me an estimate of $600-$1000, Dr. Lanman said that she wanted to first try and clean her teeth and treat her with antibiotics. Still a hefty price tag of around $250 which included anesthesia but NOTHING compared to $1000 dooms day quote that the previous vet had quoted me. Oh, and let me tell you, Dr. Lanman doesn't mistreat you and give you the "You're a bad mother to your animal" attitude that I've received from other vets when I didn't bring my animals in after the first sneeze. She spoke to me like the concerned and worried "parent" that I am. Now I'll give a couple of posters on here a little insight. Yes, there have been a couple of staffers here and there in her clinic that just seemed like jerks but they're long gone. Crappy people don't usually last there at her clinic and I doubt that they last very long anywhere else. I do remember on one occasion a vet assistant whose name I don't remember (she was short, Caucasian, wore glasses, hair in a braid, 50's) that gave me the judgmental little attitude when she noticed a huge cyst on my cat. I had that addressed before with another vet but she tried scaring me and telling me, "Oh God! How long has she had the tumor?" I told her (don't laugh),"It's not a tumor, it's a growth or cyst" and she looked at me as if I didn't know what the hell I was talking about. Of course, why would I know? After all..SHE's the Vet Assistant. When Dr. Lanman came in and examined my princess, she reassured me that it wasn't a tumor but that I should probably make an appointment for a test or to have it drained. There have been a couple of rookie vets that have worked in her clinic here and there but no one compares to Dr. Lanman. If at all possible, request her specifically. Yes, I know the whole Kinesiology/Muscle Testing thing seems weird however, you don't necessarily get charged for it and she's just trying to see which foods will agree with your animals system the most. Food allergies are becoming more and more apparent every day. I would have thought it was bologna too if my aunt hadn't been told the same thing from her Yorkie's vet. My testimonial is only a small representation of everything that Dr. Lanman has done to help my animals. If you knew WHY she was in Veterinarian medicine you would realize that your negative experience may have been more in part to perhaps one of the less experienced vets or you just happened to walk in during the time that a select few of the staffers were still working there. Dr. Lanman is a hero in my book...I wouldn't go anywhere else. If it wasn't for Dr. Lanman's willingness to let us make payments, we never would have been able to afford treatment and we wouldn't have our little family members with us today. P.S. Did I mention that we drive 30 miles out of our way because even with gas money she's still less expensive than the 5 vet clinics that are within THREE miles of us? THEY don't do payments.

BEST vet around!!!
Reviewer: Lama
Im not sure what the people that say how horrible this clinic is are talking about. This is the best animal hospital I have EVER been to. Dr. Lanman has always done everything she can to help the animals, any day or any time of day even on weekends or holidays when they are closed. Their prices and services are AMAZING and the cheapest you will find around. She is the most compassionate veterinarian that I have ever met and does ANYTHING and EVERYTHING she can for the well being of the animal. Even if that means working with you on payments. I am sorry for the people who have had a bad experience but I have had and always have had just the opposite. She does use the muscle testing for some treatments and it has worked for my animals. I have a Labrador that has had many health problems including ear infections, licking her skin raw and losing her hair, and Dr. Lanman muscle tested her. We found out it WAS the food she was eating that was causing all her problems. We changed her food and continue to rotate them as to Dr. Lanman's had advised and she has not had a single problem for over 2 years(this was a dog that had bad ear infections every month). I would recommend this clinic to anyone and will continue to take my animals there and wouldn't take them anywhere else!

Are we talking about the same vet?
Reviewer: Liz K
Agree w the poster that said she prescribes Chinese muscle energy tests and other voodoo. My dog went there because he was limping on one of his legs. Somehow she diagnosed him with a food allergy and corn proteins stealing his energy or something and prescribed this very expensive diet. My dog continued to limp and now was coughing. I took him to another vet that diagnosed valley fever and he is doing much better after treatment. This vet is WEIRD!!!!!!! oh, btw, a tech there is named Judi, isn't this the same person doing all these great reviews?!?!?! hmmmmmm???????

Awesome

I have 5 dogs - 3 show dogs and 2 field champion hunting dogs. I can't say enough about Dr. Lanman! At dog shows, everyone comes up to ask who cropped my dogs' ears because they look so perfect. The hunting dogs get into every possible ugly situation and the older one recently had an infection in her sinus area. It swelled up like a golf ball. I took her to another vet because we were out of state and they just handed us pills. When we arrived back in AZ, Dr. Lanman held the clinic open late for me to bring her in; then she put in a drain and lanced and cleaned the infected area. When I spoke with another hunting dog owner, he said Dr. Lanman saved my dog from dying. I'll never go anywhere else!

One of the best

I am sorry that someone had a bad experience at Dr. Lanman's facility. I have had only the best experiences. She came to the clinic on Labor Day a year & 1/2 ago to take care of my Great Dane who was crying in pain. She did emergency surgery just to discover that my beloved pet was covered in cancer and needed to be euthanized that day. She was extremely compassionate to me & my husband at this horrible time. I also know she has gone out of her way to help numerous people & pets in need. She takes care of emergencies 24 hours a day - never sending anyone to the emergency animal clinic. If animals are too ill to stay at the clinic at night she will take them home with her. She does many in home euthanasias which make it so much easier on the pets and their owners at such a sorrowful time. She is also a part of the veterinary disaster relief team. She helped rescue animals after Hurricane Katrina & Rita. She also helped to take care of the working dogs after the World Trade Center disaster. She gives tirelessly to helping the world around her. The staff is also very friendly & does their best to help pets & owners whenever they can. I have & will continue to recommend Dr. Lanman to everyone I know.

Dr. Lorna Lanman DVM vet practices weird voodoo
Reviewer: Scared of this bizarre vet
Got charged out the wazoo & our pet was in horrible pain and could barely walk after the visit & screamed at the top of her lungs during the visit & she is not vocal ever.
Just wait til she suggest the chinese energy tests in lieu of x-rays! WHAT? I'm serious.

THE WORST EVER!!!
Reviewer: Jean
I needed a new Vet. One that would be closer to home and so I tried Petsvet. I have never been so displeased with any Vet. Hospital ever! The staff there is TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, EXTREMELY RUDE, VERY SLOW And they can never give you an answer to any of your questions. Every time that I went there just to pick up a good brand of dog food they never knew the price and they spent 10-15 minutes trying to find it and most the time they are wrong again! I have stopped there to buy the exact same weight and brand, etc. dog food and each time they never know the correct price and each time the price changes. Example, 1st bag cost me 14.80, the next time it was 15.00 (not bad) and the third time they wanted 28.00. These changes happened within just a few weeks of each other. As soon as you go through the door, you can hear the ching, ching, ching of your bill adding up even before you reach the counter. I didn't find the vets there to be anything special and not that compassionate. I heard the same ching, ching, ching from them too. To me this office is about nothing but MONEY!!! I will never return there or recommend them to anyone.

OMG... Dr. Lanman is the best vet around. She cares about animals and not money like all the other vets. The staff is even knowledgeable if you for some reason can't talk to her. Every one fits in your pet around a very busy clinic. I will continue to take my animals to her.

Wonderful

I am so sorry for the reviewer above. We had just the opposite experience. We had our dog neutered there and they couldn't have been nicer or more efficient. The staff was knowledgeable and the prices were reasonable. I felt like I was in a place where the care was more important than the money. We are using them for both our dogs now.

Horrible
Reviewer: Missy
My husband took our 10 year old dog in due to a limp. After having x-rays done he was told that he has a fracture in the knee but needed to be tested for valley fever and cancer. A month later after giving our dog medication for valley fever his leg doubled in size which they never wrapped or tended too. We took him for a second look at a different vet who was not even able to see a so called fracture. Come to find out he had bone cancer in the leg and it had spread in that time and is now going to have to be put down. When my husband called them back to talk about the x-ray the vet then said all she could see was a bunch of (mush)... what is that coming from a professional? I would not recommend this place to anyone.
