I recently took my little Pom, Zoey, to Dr. Roberts to have a cyst removed from her back. I had been told before that this clinic was very pricey. Still, it is only a couple of blocks from my house. I dropped her off in the morning and said I would pick her up after work. I asked to be called at work with an estimate of the cost. I was astounded when the vet called and said it would cost between $200.00 and $300.00. I said I didn't have that kind of money and would pick her up. My daughter stopped on her way in from Lincoln to pick her up and had to pay a $43.00 bill. I was livid. $12.00 for keeping her for 1/2 a day and $31.00 for her consultation. $31.00 so look at her cyst and do NOTHING!! I was furious and called to say so! In this one evening, I have heard two other stories about the cost of this place. A friend of mine paid $300.00 for two visits to Dr. Roberts for her Rat Terrier. He then sent them to an Emergicare which cost her another $350.00 and then $95.00 to put her baby down. Over $700.00 and she lost her dog anyway, LAST WEEK, . My daughter's friend took their cat to Florence Animial Clinic and he was misdiagnosed and died. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau. I was never informed of the charges I would be assessed if I didn't have the operation and I was never told there would be a charge for her being there half a day...I would have found someone to pick her up immediately. I will NEVER again take my pets to this place. I think his fees are OUTRAGEOUS and I have heard too many horror stories already...in ONE day. I'm sure I will hear more as I continue to warn others in my community.
