I too had a bad experience with VCA. The only reason I went in is because I am house sitting for a friend and VCA is their regular vet. The dog had a slight laceration that I considered not even stitching. Wanting to err on the side of caution we went in trusting that they would do the right thing. $700 later we had been treated for everything from giardia to fleas to tape worm. They had me come in the next day to have a look and all they did was take another $40 and schedule two more visits before the four stitches are taken out. Yikes! This dog is shiny, well cared for and not a flea in sight. Needless to say, I shall never return to VCA. I am left to wonder if they have not yet met the March quota set by corporate headquarters.

Let others know what you think of Vca Veterinary Care Animal Hospital.

I would recommend this company to a friend.

This place shows absolutely no compassion. They overcharge for everything, and won't even let you inside the exam room to comfort your pet. I sat there for 2 hours when my cat was desperately ill, and no one even bothered to tell me how she was doing, despite the fact that I was in tears. They ran needless tests costing me upwards of $500, and considered running more tests that would have cost $500 more. They also prescribed asthma medication, even though it was obvious to my regular vet that she did not have asthma. I took her to my regular vet soon thereafter and he was able to diagnose her with an enlarged heart. The only reason we came to VCA was because it was open when other places are not, and I would never go back. I felt no compassion for my cat, nor myself, and it seemed like the main motivation of this hospital is money.
