Fantastic. Dr. Kyles, the surgeon, saved my dog's life when another specialty hospital told me that surgery wasn't "worth it". Boy were they wrong! Dr. Oberthaler, the oncologist, gave me ALL of my options, not just the "easy path". The entire staff was very compassionate during my time of need. I told my boss and now he refers more patients to NYCVS! I will not go to another specialty hospital ever again!!!

I would like to first begin by saying that Marion Pattillo showed the most unprofessional courtesy I ever experienced in my life. Doctors are suppose to comfort people in their time of need not worry about estimates and money. My dog was suffering and me as a customer deserved the common courtesy and respect. Doctor Marion showed me nothing but the worst medical practice I even endured.
I strongly suggest that anyone who deals with this doctor understands that she is not there to comfort nor assist anyone. What I will say is that Dr Pattillo is there to take your money and not care if your animal dies or lives.

Hello animal lovers,
I am writing to say that Dr Patillo is a very cold, crude , hearless Veterinarian and I will spread this info to anyone & everyone I know who is an animal lover.
Recently a friend of mine had to
( sadly) put her beloved dog to sleep due to MANY health problems. Her local Veterinary office had a
recording that recommended NYC Vet Specialists. Boy was thata bad decision on the part of my friends Vet.Dr Patillo was cold, nasty mean and had no compassion.
When my friend asked if putting her dog to sleep was the right decision Dr P sarcastically answered her with a comment about no quality of life and said " What were you waiting for". My friend's dog had a bad heart & lungs and was in the back office and when my friend asked to see her dog to say goodbye Dr P refused to allow it and was short tempered and not comforting at all.
PLEASE AVOID THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS. This was a GOD awful Vet & a terrible experience.

Dr Marion Patillo. I accompanied my good friend to this practice last week when it was obvious that her long beloved pet & family member was nearing the end. Our usual Vet had NYC Vet Spec on their answering machine as the place to go in an emergency. BIG, BIG mistake.
I have been a pet owner since I was a child and worked as a Vet Tech for 11 years and Dr Patillo was awful, heartles and barbaric in her manner and treatment. She was cold & cruel and questioned my friend for waiting so long to put her beloved pet down. Her sweet, loved dogwent downhill over night and my friend would NEVER want to see her suffer.
Dr Patillo said she could maintain the dog until morning for a large fee and when my friend opted for euthanasia Dr Patillo didn't allow her or any family members to be present.
As we pet owners/lovers know ..the day we say goodbye to our " best friend" is one of the hardest , most trying days in life.
Dr Patillo had no compassion and I will post this info repeatedly on any review site and repeat this horrible experience to anyone I know so they can avoid the inhumane & heartless Dr Patillo at
all costs. RIP Pookie. We all love & miss you.

I have been finding slandering material with regards to this case. This case has been falsly stated as the case has been submited to my insurance company for proper action to be met. Please see below a statement made my the hospital manager. I would appreciate removal of this completely fabricated statements and falsy claimed review. The owner asked me to lie on an insurance form and when I declined she became abrasive.

My business, NYC Veterinary Specialists, received the below review based on a recent visit. We feel strongly that the review violates your terms of use (offensive language, references to malpractice, etc). The person submitting the review was apparently a friend of the owner and was not apparently aware of what happened. The review below is a fabrication based on the fact that the client was upset that our Dr. would not agree to misrepresent the problem on an insurance form (to avoid it getting declined). The dog had a major medical issue for which the client was not willing to pay for the significant medical care required. Numerous other elements of the review are fabricated (for example, we always allow owner presence for euthanasia, and in fact another doctor did the euthanasia). We respectfully request that this misleading and inaccurate review be removed.
