Colerain Animal Clinic

I used to think that Colerain Animal Hospital was a good place, but I will never take another pet there again. I had a kitten that I hand raised from 2 weeks old. He always seemed healthy until he was about 9 months old. I took him to Colerain Animal Clinic as soon as he showed signs of being sick, and the vet checked his temperature saying he didn't have a fever, although it was 103. The vet sent him home with an antibiotic, a type of vitamin supplement, and updated his shots. Within 4 days I had to take him back as he was getting worse. This time, the same vet said he seemed to have allergies, and gave me something for allergies. Two days later, with my kitten getting worse, I decided to find another vet. With a thorough checkup, and blood test, it was found he had feline leukemia. My new vet tried a number of medicines to help him, but at that point he was so sick. He started to get better from an upper respiratory infection, but soon got sick again from a sinus infection. As I know he would have probably died eventually as much as my new vet tried to save him, he may have pulled out of his illness had the vet at Colerain suggested a blood test to find out what was wrong. Nothing more was done that his temperature taken, and both times they said he didn't have a fever. My new vet said that yes, 103 is a high fever, the same as it would be in a dog. I just feel the vet at Colerain could have tried to do more, but I guess they are too busy worrying about collecting the money than actually finding out what is wrong with the animal. I was able to spend another short 2 months with my kitten, but ultimately had to have him euthanized. Colerain Animal Clinic will never see any animal from me again, and I would not recommend them to anyone. I wrote to the clinic, via email, and of course I never heard a word back about anything, not even an apology. Of course, they did get their money, so why would they bother with me.
