This #1 NYT Bestseller was a hit for a reason. Written by John Grogan, this novel tells the story of Marley, the Grogan’s family dog who lived with them for 13 years. The book was even made into a movie of the same title in 2008.

The Good Good Pig: The Extraordinary Life of Christopher Hogwood

Sy Montgomery tells the story of her pig, Christopher Hogwood, and the joy he brought the entire town. She narrates how Mr. Hogwood helps her through a rough time in her life and brings her out of her shell.

H is for Hawk

Written and narrated by Helen Macdonald, this book tells the story of Helen’s quest to train a goshawk after her father’s untimely death. Throughout her journey, she finds that she has many similarities to the creature.
