Dr. Wilson and Amanda came to my home for a sick visit. They treated Zeus and myself with respect and caring. They listened to my concerns and gave excellent advice.

I have a new rescue cat who I couldn't get to my regular vet. He had some type of upper respiratory issue causing him to sneeze out mucus, and he didn't seem to be feeling well. "BetterVet" were fabulous. Jack is not yet very social and afraid of humans, but they were still able to make a diagnosis and give me a treatment plan. The service was more than reasonable, and I may have found my new vets for all of my other cats as well. I would highly recommend them!

My dog Finn had some weird nose fungus, but "our BetterVet veterinarian" was right on it. They spend a lot of time making Finn comfortable and Finn didn't even realize it was a doctor's visit. He enjoyed the attention so much. A wonderful service, a 10 star rating from us!

Fantastic experience with "BetterVet". We have a 17 year old male cat who really doesn't like going to the Vet. We needed a low-stress assessment of his health, advice on ongoing care, and a support system as he continues to age. "The BetterVet veterinarian" was amazing, patient, and knowledgeable about elder cat care. Will definitely use this service again. Great follow up as well.

We had a terrific experience. Our kitty was in need of a checkup and was terribly itchy, possibly suffering from a uti. The two vets who came were knowledgeable and gentle with our cat...gave her what she needed, and she felt safe and easeful. Good job!

Dr. was empathetic about our situation, knowledgeable about what was ailing our kitty Agnes and provided terrific guidance. And she's feeling so much better.

"The BetterVet staff" are the best. They are calm and very gentle, inform us carefully and express curiousness and interest in our other animals. That goes a long ways. Procedures were explained. I have no complaints and only praise.

BetterVet Detroit
It was a great experience! I will definitely continue to use them. They understood why it was difficult for me to put my dog in the car and take her to the vet. They were able to prescribe me her medicine, and I had it in less than 48 hours. Highly recommend. Thank you for all of your help!!

BetterVet Boston
We adopt last chance puppers and have had everything from very ill seniors to pups who were feral. "A BetterVet veterinarian" has seen us through it all with deep care for our animals AND for us. She's made us feel more confident and capable even through lots of medical "stuff" and our dogs have always been at their healthiest through "BetterVet's" care. What she might not share with you is that "this BetterVet veterinarian" is VERY highly respected among specialists and surgeons in the area and her diagnoses, treatment plans and attention to the tiniest details is admired and appreciated by her patients and colleagues. The fact that "BetterVet" comes to your house - at the same or better costs than a local practice - is a lifesaver when you have a reluctant or very sick animal. My only complaint is that she doesn't treat humans! We love her, our dogs ADORE her and we know our outcomes have all been better because of her.

The following symptoms typically require urgent care at an emergency veterinary clinic:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Signs that your pet is in severe pain - shaking, vocalizing, panting, hiding, or agitation
  • Seizure(s) or loss of consciousness
  • Wounds or injuries
  • Ingestion of toxic food, substances, or foreign objects

What if my pet needs further tests or hospitalization?

If your pet requires further tests or hospitalization your veterinarian will discuss the appropriate next steps and offer recommendations of local hospitals in your area.

How do I know if my pet needs a sick visit or a wellness exam?

If your pet is feeling fine but is due for a routine wellness checkup, then you’ll want to book a Wellness Exam. For times when your pet is not feeling well or seems off, you will want to book a Sick Visit instead.
