Dr. Jessica Rice is no stranger to providing exemplary in-home care for her clients. After all, at the tender age of 3 she performed her first appendectomy right in her mother’s living room (the surgery was on her stuffed polar bear, Miles, and it was a success). Her passion for providing positive outcomes for animals of all shapes and sizes only grew from there. The Dearborn native earned her undergraduate degree in microbiology and molecular genetics from Michigan State University. She then earned her doctorate at Michigan State’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Upon graduation, Dr. Rice has worked tirelessly to establish herself as a versatile veterinarian who is dedicated to animals of all shapes and sizes (including exotic pets). Dr. Rice takes pride in treating all of her patients as if they were Meow, her beloved one-eyed cat that may have contributed to this biography by stepping on some keys. In her free time, Dr. Rice enjoys solving puzzles, swimming, skiing, and telling people she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro back in 2010.
